AFE was established in association with Alberta Filmworks, one of Canada’s premier producers of film and television programming.

In its nineteen-year history, Alberta Filmworks has produced over 160 hours of high quality dramatic television programming. AFW movies and series have been broadcast and distributed throughout the world and have garnered over one hundred Canadian and international nominations and awards. AFE and Alberta Filmworks have produced and co-produced dramatic programming for CBS, Focus Features, Warner Bros, Lifetime, USA Network, Court TV, CBC, CTV and Global Television.

AFE and AFW have a highly developed business affairs infrastructure. Our in-house business affairs department, working closely with producers, production accountants and a prominent national auditor, sets the standard for accurate tax credit calculations and the collection of provincial incentives and federal tax credits. Our audited cost reports are consistently within one percent of our original projections for tax credit purposes.

We take great pride in our relationships with Alberta’s unions, guilds, crews and film production suppliers. We have worked over the years to develop a strong Alberta community, and have been directly responsible for training over one hundred professionals, mentored by seasoned veterans in every aspect of production. As a result, we have generated the loyalty of several world-class crews who call Alberta home.
